  • 1- 1 ½ pound Shrimp Jumbo peeled and deveined
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun salt
  • 2 teaspoons Garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked paprika
  • ½ cup Red bell pepper (diced)
  • 3 tablespoon chopped Parsley
  • 2 thinly sliced green onions
  • ¼ cup Broth or stock
  • ½ lemon
  • Salt and pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 ½ cups milk
  • 1 cup quick grits
  • 3 ½ tablespoon butter
  • 2 cups cheddar
  • 1 piece bay leaf
  • Salt to taste

Firstly, In a large skillet, cook bacon until brown and crispy over medium heat for about 3 to 5 minutes. Remove the bacon from the skills, and transfer it to a pan. Keep about 3 tablespoons of bacon in the skillet itself.Add about a tablespoon of oil or butter to a Pan and add shrimp into it. Sauté the shrimp for about 3-4 minutes, then season with Cajun salt. Next, add minced garlic, bell peppers, paprika, parsley, and green onions to the pan.

Add ¼ cups of broth, to the seasoned shrimp mixture. Cook for another 3 minutes and Add lemon juice, season with pepper and salt, and adjust to taste. Now add the crispy bacon. Serve this mix over the prepared grits once it is removed from the heat.

In a heavy saucepan fill water, milk, bay leaf, and salt and bring it to a Boil after that Add the grits to the saucepan, gradually whisk them and keep stirring to avoid lump formation. Cook the grits completely until it is thickened under a light simmer, constantly stirring, and the water is absorbed. Cook for 15 minutes would be sufficient.
