Recipe Ingredients:

  • 6 Chinese sausages sliced into thin rounds (pork)
  • 0.5 kg ground pork
  • 0.5 kg water chestnuts, peeled and coarsely chopped
  • 3 tbsp scallions finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice wine or dry sherry
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp black pepper grounded

Recipe Instructions: 1. First, In a food processor, grind the Chinese sausages and ground pork 2. To this add water chestnuts, soy sauce, wine, and scallions.  3. To this add the remaining above-mentioned ingredients. 4. Shape the mixture into flat loaf shapes and Set the steamer, place the prepared loaf into it, and steam for 25 minutes. 5. Turn off the flame and allow to cool for 10 minutes, then serve.

Directions

Cooking the meat
Take a large food processor, put the Chinese sausages into it, and pulse until they are finely chopped.
Now add the ground pork and pulse again to combine well with the sausage.

Preparing the loaf
To this meat, add water chestnuts, and mix well. Transfer this mixture to a large bowl, and add soy sauce, rice wine, and scallions. In another bowl, mix sugar, salt, and cornstarch.
Add this mixture to the meat along with sesame oil and pepper. Mix well using a spatula or use your hands to mix. Shape the mixture into small flat loaf shapes and keep them on a heat-proof dish.

Steaming the meat
Take a deep wok or pan. Set the steamer by putting a rack inside it, and pour about 5 cm. of water. Boil the water, and gently place the plate with the loaf in the steamer.
Steam over medium flame for about 25 minutes, closing the lid. Turn off the flame, then let the pork recipe cool down for about 10 minutes in the pan before serving them.
